American Youth Soccer Organization Providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.

"Where does my money go?" is a commonly asked question, so this page sets out to answer this in a general way.

First, know that everybody you see in the Regions (Coaches, Referees, Youth Referees, Board Members, Team Parents) are volunteers, so please show them respect.  The only paid individuals in AYSO is about 20 people at the National Office.

All of the $25 National Player Fee that you pay once per AYSO year (Fall and Spring, not calendar year) goes to the National Office to pay for Soccer Accident Insurance for the players and volunteers.  This $25 also helps pay for the aforementioned employees at the National Office.

The Region charges $55 per season for registration, and all of that goes to the Region to pay for a variety of expense that you will see below.

Note that the AYSO calendar runs Fall to Spring, not a normal calendar year.

Estimate Revenue in 2023/2024 based on 440 registrations the previous year:  $21,062.  Note that this number tries to account for discounts on multiple siblings.

Expenses:
Mowing: $6,000
Bathrooms: $1,000
Paint for fields: $3,500
Medals: $1,300
Coaches Equipment: $700
Referee Equipment : $300
Field Maintenance (sand, pellets, and grass seed): $250
Shirts for volunteers: $300
Background Checks: $650
Training: $6,000
Total Expenses: $20,000

Revenue left after expenses: $1,062.

AYSO National recommends keeping a reserve of $5 per registered child, and this number is only $2.41 per child.  Region 440 does have a reserve in the bank to make up for this.

Other expenses that we have had over the last year that our reserve has helped pay for:

New goals for 14U and up fields: $6,000
New goals for 6U: $
New goals for PG/SY: $

You probably would like to know what the Training expense is.  Training is a huge part of AYSO as every volunteer is required to complete several online classes.  In addition to these there are some in person trainings that need to be completed, which have to be conducted by AYSO certified instructors.  The Training expense is to send our volunteers to various training camps held throughout the year in order to complete these in person training requirements.  It is also to get some of our volunteers Instructor trained so that way we can host in person training in our Region so volunteers don't have to travel.
